D. Hudgins (Partner)
B.S. 1977, Hampden-Sydney College; J.D. 1980, University of Richmond,
T.C. Williams School of Law. Admitted to the Bars of the Commonwealth
of Virginia, District of Columbia, State of Maryland, United States
Supreme Court, United States District Courts for the Eastern and
Western Districts of Virginia, the District of Columbia, the District
of Maryland and the Northern District of Texas, and the United States
Court of Appeals for the Fourth and District of Columbia Circuits.
In addition to the local bar associations, Mr. Hudgins is a member
of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, the Defense
Research Institute, the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys,
the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys and Eagle International
Associates, Inc.
Since 1981 Mr. Hudgins has devoted his legal career almost exclusively
to insurance and corporate defense. He has extensive litigation
experience in a wide variety of matters, including admiralty, arson,
burglary, constitutional torts, coverage, directors and officers,
environmental claims, errors and omissions, inland marine, intellectual
property, municipal liability, personal injury, product defects,
professional liability, property damage and workers' compensation.
Mr. Hudgins' geographic range of practice includes all state and
federal courts throughout Virginia, Maryland and the District of
Columbia. He has handled well over a hundred and fifty trials and
argued numerous appeals, with consistently good results for his
clients.

Mary
K. Gogoel (Partner)
B.A. (Psychology) 1979, Southern Illinois University; J.D. 1985,
John Marshall Law School. Admitted to the Illinois State Bar, Ms.
Gogoel is a member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar
Association, the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and
the Defense Research Institute.
Ms. Gogoel has participated extensively in these organizations and
has appeared as a speaker on issues of concern to the insurance
industry. Ms. Gogoel currently serves as Chair of the Insurance
Relations Subcommittee of the DRI's Insurance Law Committee. Ms.
Gogoel is a former Vice President and Claims Counsel for Interstate
National Corporation. Her areas of practice include professional
liability, general liability, extra-contractual (bad faith) liability
and coverage matters.

C.E. McDonough (Partner)
B.S. in Commerce (Accounting) 1986, McIntire School of Commerce
at the University of Virginia; J.D. 1991, Marshall-Wythe School
of Law at the College of William and Mary. Admitted to the Bars
of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia, the
United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia,
and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fourth and District
of Columbia Circuits. Mr. McDonough is a member of the Virginia
Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, the Alexandria
Bar Association and VADA.
Mr. McDonough provides advice to businesses regarding formation, employment
practices, transactions, contractual matters and litigation. Mr.
McDonough handles general liability and professional malpractice
cases, including claims against health care professionals, accountants,
and attorneys. Mr. McDonough is also experienced in defense of employment
and civil rights claims. In addition to federal and state courts,
he has litigated administrative matters before the EEOC, MSPB, EPA,
and Virginia Department of Labor and Employee Relations.

Robert E. Draim
(Partner)

Law Clerk, U.S. District Court Judge Richard B. Kellam, Eastern
District of Virginia (Norfolk Division), 1979-1980. Admitted to
the Bars of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the United States District
Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and the
United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Draim
is also a member of the Alexandria Bar Association.
Mr. Draim has extensive litigation experience in state and federal
courts, including jury and non-jury trials, as well as appellate
arguments. A principal focus of Mr. Draim's practice has been the
defense of attorneys and law firms in legal malpractice actions.
Mr. Draim has also handled numerous other professional liability,
insurance defense and commercial litigation matters. In addition,
Mr. Draim has appeared in state and federal courts throughout the
country in products liability cases involving medical devices, asbestos,
machinery and other products. Mr. Draim is the co-author of Virginia
Law of Products Liability, Second Edition (2002) (West Publishing
Company).

Juliane C. Miller

Law Center. Admitted to the Bars of the Commonwealth of Virginia,
State of Maryland, District of Columbia, United States District
Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the District
of Columbia and the District of Maryland. Ms. Miller is active in
the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, the Defense Research
Institute and the Alexandria Bar Association.
Ms. Miller maintains an active litigation practice concentrating
in the defense of professional liability claims. She has defended
licensed professionals and entities including lawyers, real estate
brokers and sales persons, long term care facilities and individual
health care providers accused of failing to fulfill professional
obligations. Ms. Miller has significant experience in mediation
and arbitration and has been utilizing the benefits of both to successfully
resolve cases for many years. )

States Tax Court, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Scarlett's areas of specialty are commercial litigation and
bankruptcy. Mr. Scarlett is resident in Baltimore, and is a partner
in the Baltimore law firm of Scarlett and Croll.

Law Center of George Washington University. Admitted to the Bars
of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the District of Columbia and the
United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Ms. Hudgins began her insurance defense career in 1989, and she
has extensive experience representing various insureds, primarily
in the areas of private security and premises liability.

the Fourth Circuit. She is a member of the American and Alexandria

Ms. Stafford was formerly a staff attorney for the prosecutor training
affiliate of the National District Attorneys Association. During
law school, Ms. Stafford served as a law clerk for legislative and
executive agencies in Washington, D.C., and also worked as a lobbyist
in the Virginia General Assembly.

for the Civil Division of the United States Attorney's Office in
the District of Columbia.

During law school, Ms. Woldai interned for the National

Re-Entry of Ex-Offenders Clinic.
